IVK

The Industrieverband Klebstoffe e.V. (IVK) is the German Adhesives Association, representing the technical, economic and regulatory interests of the adhesives industry in Germany. Founded in 1946 and headquartered in Düsseldorf, the association brings together approximately 150 member companies, including adhesive manufacturers, raw material suppliers, adhesive tape producers, system partners and scientific institutes. 

Through its broad membership base, IVK represents the vast majority of the German adhesives industry, which is largely composed of small- and medium-sized enterprises and generates significant economic value across a wide range of downstream industries. 

Within the European adhesive tape industry, IVK plays an important role as a national industry body supporting tape manufacturers, suppliers and stakeholders across the value chain. By representing adhesive and adhesive tape interests at both national and European levels, including through its active involvement in FEICA, the association contributes to shaping the regulatory, technical and economic framework in which the industry operates. 

A key area of activity for IVK is regulatory and technical advocacy. The association engages with policymakers, authorities and standardisation bodies to address issues related to chemical regulation, product safety, environmental protection and market access. These activities are highly relevant for adhesive tape manufacturers, particularly in the context of evolving European legislation affecting materials, packaging and sustainability.

IVK also supports the industry through technical guidance and knowledge transfer. Through its technical committees and publications, the association develops practical guidelines and best practices for adhesive applications, contributing to quality assurance, performance standards and safe use of adhesive technologies across industries. 

Collaboration and communication are central to our approach. IVK provides a platform for dialogue between industry players, research institutions and public stakeholders, facilitating the exchange of knowledge and promoting innovation in adhesive technologies. This includes supporting training, education and qualification programmes in bonding technology, helping to ensure the continued development of technical expertise within the industry. 

Sustainability and regulatory compliance are increasingly important focus areas for us and for the industries we represent. IVK actively contributes to discussions on environmental performance, safe use of materials and the transition towards more sustainable adhesive solutions, supporting its members as they adapt to changing regulatory and market requirements.
