Dynamic shear is a test method (TM) to measure shear resistance quickly by force rather than time, helping us to gain a better understanding of an adhesive’s chemistry.

Dynamic shear testing offers faster and more precise information on an adhesive’s ability to resist shear forces. It is preferably used for shear strength measurements, in which static shear testing takes too much time to obtain a result.

Dynamic shear testing is used by many tape manufacturers worldwide, but no standardised TM is available yet. Within the Afera Technical Committee, we concluded that developing this could be helpful and of interest to Member Companies.

We therefore ask you to provide us your valuable feedback by just answering “yes” or “no” to developing a dynamic shear TM development.
