Sustainability Project

The Afera Flagship Sustainability Project (AFSP) is vital to the European tape industry because it establishes unified environmental-impact calculations and waste-management standards, enabling the tape sector to align with the European Green Deal and meet future regulatory, sustainability and circular-economy requirements. It is led by Afera Regulatory Affairs & Sustainability Manager Pablo Englebienne and Ms. Pastor, and supported by Ms. Das.

The AFSP consists of 2 Workstreams: WS1 – Calculations and WS2 – Waste Management
WS1 is preparing the next maintenance update of the TACK tool, reviewing Member-driven suggestions for improvement while supporting companies through extended demos and clearer guidance. WS2 is exploring certification routes such as RecyClass and CTP/PTS, working to close data gaps across filmic and paper liners, and closely monitoring evolving CEN DfR guidance, particularly the implications for PVC, PP, and paper tapes in cardboard-recycling streams.

Meetings
Held monthly online, all AFSP Workstream meetings are open to participants from Afera Member Companies. Join now by registering here, https://afera.com/register-for-afsp, or by sending an email to afsp@afera.com.

AFSP Workspace
For WS participants, the AFSP Workspace can be accessed in two ways:

  • SharePoint site (you may encounter difficulties based on your company IT policies)
  • AFSP Workspace (be sure to log in with AFSP member credentials).
