Avery Dennison expands PSA tape range with Sustainable ADvantage portfolio

Avery Dennison Performance Tapes North America has expanded its Sustainable ADvantage portfolio with a new line of pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) tapes designed to help manufacturers reduce the environmental impact of components and finished goods. Developed as part of the company’s wider work on regeneration and the circular economy, the portfolio supports material selection with lower environmental impact while maintaining bonding performance, service life and manufacturing efficiency. 

Focus on lower-impact materials and design efficiency

Current products include options that reduce material use through design efficiency, incorporate responsibly sourced inputs such as Forest Stewardship Council certified paper liners, and support improved recyclability, reuse or compostability where applicable. 

The line also features products with higher levels of recycled and renewable content, alongside other approaches intended to improve environmental performance across the product life cycle. It will continue to grow with further additions over time.

Solvent-free adhesive technologies for reduced emissions

The latest release covers transfer tapes and double-coated constructions. These use three solvent-free acrylic adhesive technologies: emulsion acrylic, pure emulsion acrylic and UV acrylic adhesives. Each technology has been developed for specific manufacturing and application needs while producing lower volatile organic compound emissions than comparable systems.

The Sustainable ADvantage portfolio forms part of Avery Dennison’s broader sustainability strategy, which links material selection, product construction and end-of-life considerations to its target of making all products recyclable by 2030.
