Healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) are a significant cost to the United States healthcare system [2], and reducing this economic burden can be accomplished, in part, through awareness and prevention of medical adhesive-related skin injuries (MARSIs), a term describing skin barrier damage associated with the wear and removal of adhesive-containing medical tapes, dressings, and drapes.
