Adhesive tapes are multi-layered products comprised of a carrier material that serves as a backing, an adhesive coating, and in some cases, a removable liner.

These release liners are the forgotten heroes in the adhesive tape structure:  paper- or plastic-based, they make it possible to wind the tape material into a roll and prevent early adhesion.
